  Adolor Corporation (Nasdaq: ADLR), Exton, PA, is a pharmaceutical company developing novel products for the treatment of pain and the side effects that are caused by pain treatments.


  Amerifit Nutrition Inc., Bloomfield, CT, is a pioneer in the development of functional ingredients, foods and dietary supplements based on sound nutritional science. Amerifit Nutrition's leading branded product is Estroven, a nutritional supplement that helps maintain a woman's balance naturally.


  Amgen, Inc. (Nasdaq: AMGN), Thousand Oaks, CA, is a biopharmaceutical company that produces therapeutic proteins.


  Biosite, Inc. (Nasdaq: BSTE), San Diego, CA, develops and markets rapid disposable immunodiagnostic products for point-of-care testing.


  Cambridge Antibody Technology Group, plc (Nasdaq: CATG), Cambridge, England, is a biopharmaceutical company that produces therapeutic antibodies.


  Cephalon, Inc. (Nasdaq: CEPH), Malvern, PA, is a pharmaceutical company targeting neurological disorders.


  Corixa Corporation (Nasdaq: CRXA), Seattle, WA, produces vaccines for cancer and infectious diseases.


  Genset, S.A. (NYSE: SRA), Evry, France, is a genomics company.  Genset became public in 1996 and was acquired by Serono in June 2002.


  Gryphon Therapeutics, Inc., South San Francisco, CA, develops polymer-modified proteins made by total chemical synthesis, rather than biological methods. Gryphon's unique technology now provides rapid access to premium quality proteins and therapeutics.


  IDEC Pharmaceuticals Corp. (Nasdaq: BIIB), San Diego, CA, produces therapeutic antibodies.  IDEC merged with Biogen in November 2003.


  Inhale Therapeutic Systems, Inc., (Nasdaq: NKTR), San Carlos, CA, develops inhalation delivery technology for drugs. Inhale changed its name in January 2003 to Nektar Therapeutics.


  LeukoSite, Inc., Cambridge, MA, is biotechnology company developing proprietary drugs designed to block disease-promoting actions of white blood cells. LeukoSite went public in 1997 and was acquired by Millennium Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: MLNM) in 1999.


  Lexicon Genetics, Inc. (Nasdaq: LEXG), Houston, TX, is a genomics company producing knockout mice and identifying novel human genes.


  Memory Pharmaceuticals Corp., Montvale, NJ, is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of innovative drug candidates for the treatment of central nervous system, or CNS, conditions that exhibit significant impairment of memory and other cognitive functions.


  POINT Biomedical Corporation, San Carlos, CA, is a pharmaceutical company focused on technologies for the delivery of diagnostic and therapeutic agents. POINT's core technology is based upon an ultrasonically responsive two-layer, biodegradable microsphere or biSphere.


  Santarus, Inc., San Diego, CA, is a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on acquiring, developing and commercializing products for the prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases and disorders.


  Sepracor, Inc. (Nasdaq: SEPR), Marlborough, MA, is a pharmaceutical company that uses chiral separations to produce therapeutic compounds.


  Sequenom, Inc. (Nasdaq: SQNM), San Diego, CA, uses mass spectroscopy for determination of nucleic acid sequences. Its IPO was completed in January 2000.


  Sphinx Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Durham, NC, produced kinase inhibitors as therapeutics and developed a novel combinatorial chemistry system. The private company was acquired by Eli Lilly (NYSE: LLY).


  Therion Biologics Corporation, Cambrige, MA, develops therapeutic vaccines for cancer and preventive vaccines for AIDS. The Company has two lead programs involving multiple clinical trials.


  Versicor, Inc. (Nasdaq: MICU), Fremont, CA, is a pharmaceutical company developing anti-infectives.  Versicor merged with Biosearch Italia SpA and changed its name to Vicuron Pharmaceuticals in March 2003.


 
 

Convergence

  Alere Medical Incorporated, Reno, NV, provides technology that gives health care providers timely access to the objective clinical information needed to more effectively manage patients with congestive heart failure.


  Allscripts Healthcare Solutions (Nasdaq: MDRX), Chicago, IL, is the leading provider of clinical software and information solutions for more than 20,000 physicians across the country.. The initial investment was made in Physician Dispensing Systems, Inc., which was acquired by Allscripts in 1995.


  Ciphergen BioSystems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CIPH), Fremont, CA, develops, manufactures and markets a family of ProteinChip Systems and services for clinical, research and process proteomics applications.


  GMIS Inc., Great Valley, PA, developed physicians' office software for claims management; the company went public and was sold to HBOC, which was subsequently acquired by McKesson (NYSE: MCK).


 
 

Information Technology

  Banyan Systems, Inc. , Westborough, MA, is a market leader in delivering e-business services based on leading edge Internet and directory technology. The company has changed its name to ePresence (Nasdaq: EPRE).


  IntraLinks, Inc., New York, NY, is a leading provider of digital workspaces, connecting business communities and accelerating the intelligent flow of information and documents among participants.


  Itron, Inc. (Nasdaq: ITRI), Spokane, WA, has grown to be a leading global provider of data acquisition and wireless communication solutions for collecting and analyzing electric, gas, and water usage data.


  MicroMass Communications, Inc., Cary, NC, is a full service agency that provides relationship marketing services and brand loyalty programs to the healthcare vertical.


  Multex.com, Inc. (Nasdaq: MLTX), New York, NY, is a global provider of investment information and technology solutions for the financial services industry. Multex was purchased by Reuters (Nasdaq: RTRSY) in February 2003.


  Netegrity, Inc. (Nasdaq: NETE), Waltham, MA, is a provider of security software solutions that securely manage identities and their access to enterprise information assets, letting business in while keeping risk out.


  PowerCenter Systems, Inc., Uniondale, NY, developed materials management software for hospitals and was acquired by Eclipsys Corp. (Nasdaq: ECLP) in 1999.


  Read-Rite Corporation, Milpitas, CA, is one of the world's leading manufacturers of magnetic recording heads, head gimbal assemblies and head stack assemblies for disk and tape drives. Read-Rite went public and was subsequently acquired by Western Digital in 2003.


  SYSTECH International, Inc., Cranbury, NJ, develops and markets software for packaging operations in the pharmaceutical and food and beverage industries.


  WiseWire, Inc., Pittsburgh, PA, finds, prioritizes and organizes relevant content from the Internet into thousands of pre-defined hierarchical directories. WiseWire was acquired by Lycos (Nasdaq: TRLY) in 1998
